Industrial floors live under chemistry. Gasoline, brake fluid, acetone, antifreeze — bare concrete drinks all of it, and every spill becomes a permanent stain or a slow attack on the slab. Bone Dry EM Coating is the armor layer: a two-component, epoxy-modified surface coating with a clear semi-gloss finish, exceptional chemical resistance, and antimicrobial protection built in — designed for dry food processing, warehousing, and packaging environments. It is a stand-alone coating: apply it to bare concrete, never over a Bone Dry sealer.

The spill lineup: what the coating stands up to
Seven regulars of the industrial floor — gasoline, antifreeze, brake fluid, acetone, solvents, salts, and alcohol — sit on top of the semi-gloss EM Coating and none get through to the concrete. Clear, VOC-free, antimicrobial: wipe it and move on.
Epoxy, modified
Classic epoxy is hard but brittle. EM Coating combines those classic epoxy elements with strategic performance enhancements: increased flexibility, minimized shrinkage, and raised peel strength, in a scratch-resistant, VOC-free formula. The result is a clear, semi-gloss barrier that keeps floors looking new and pristine — and shrugs off the fluids that ruin ordinary surfaces.

Food-grade floors: cleanup by squeegee
On food-grade floors, the day’s spill sits on top of the coating — one pass of the squeegee and it’s done, with antimicrobial protection built into the coating beneath every wipe.
EM Coating is designed for dry food processing, warehousing, and packaging environments — floors that have to satisfy the sanitation audit. Spills sit on the coating instead of soaking the slab, so cleanup is a wipe rather than a remediation, and the antimicrobial formula keeps working underneath it all. It is scratch-resistant and ideal for areas with light to moderate foot traffic, and its specification sheet lists “FDA 177.1390: Approval for direct contact with food” under Testing.

Semi-gloss finish
EM Coating leaves a semi-gloss finish: floors that read as new, resist scratching, and let stains wipe off.
As it cures, a white discoloration appears during the first 6–12 hours and dissipates, leaving the coating clear within 48 hours. Because EM Coating conforms to the texture of the concrete surface when it is applied, there is little to no reduction in slip resistance.

How it goes down: two components, five moves
Coating + catalyst (coupling agent) → mix 3–5 minutes with a drill paddle → two coats on bare concrete by roller or sprayer → foot traffic at 48 hours, vehicle traffic at 72 hours. Two components; stand-alone — not over Bone Dry sealers.
Good to know: EM Coating is a two-component product. Per gallon, mix 119 fl oz of coating with 9 fl oz of catalyst (the coupling agent) using an electric drill mixing paddle for 3–5 minutes; pot life is 6 hours. Apply two coats with a ¼-inch nap roller, pump sprayer, or battery-powered sprayer, letting the first coat dry to the touch and turn clear before the second. New concrete should cure 28 days before application; existing surfaces need loose debris and peeling coatings removed. Allow 48 hours before foot traffic and 72 hours before vehicle traffic; a white discoloration in the first 6–12 hours dissipates as the coating clears. EM Coating is a stand-alone coating and is not for use over Bone Dry sealers: apply it to bare, clean, dry concrete, not over a slab that has been sealed with Bone Dry Pro, Original, Plus or any other Bone Dry sealer.
