Church projects

CrossWay Community Church
A growing congregation building its own church. The slab was not porous enough for the sealer to penetrate, so Etch-A-Crete was applied first, then Bone Dry Pro was sprayed on and became an integral part of the slab.

Westminster Presbyterian Church, Minneapolis
A 40,000-square-foot addition on Nicollet Mall opened in January 2018; the church’s contractor, Mortenson Construction, used Bone Dry Pro to seal the concrete substrate.

Can Bone Dry Pro be applied to a freshly poured slab?

Yes. Bone Dry Pro is sprayed as soon as the slab can be walked on, the day of the pour, and flooring can go down in as little as 6 hours because Quick Dry is always included.

Can Bone Dry Pro replace the curing compound?

Used standalone, Bone Dry Pro functions as the curing compound and achieves the results a curing compound achieves, so cure and seal happen in one pass. ASTM C-309 covers liquid membrane-forming compounds and does not apply to a penetrating sealer; where a specification names C-309, a dissipating curing compound can be applied after the Pro Sealer is applied.

Does Bone Dry stop mold and musty odor in a church basement?

Bone Dry Plus is Bone Dry Original with antimicrobial additives built in: it permanently blocks moisture vapor in the slab and prevents mold, mildew and odor-causing bacteria in the pores. Bone Dry Pro also carries built-in antimicrobial protection. Block basement walls are sealed first with Bone Dry Block Wall.

The slab was poured months ago and is hard-troweled. Can it still be sealed?

Yes. A burnished or hard-troweled surface is effectively sealed shut, so it needs one coat of Etch-A-Crete first: darken the slab, let it work 5-10 minutes, and let it dry to the touch. That opens the pores so Bone Dry Pro can penetrate; then apply as normal.
